Hi.
This is a very, very nice listening room.
Maybe next year when my wife and I will build our new house,
I will have something that look the same ?
However, I will have several monsters in my listening room (V1 + 2 X V2).
Now you can sit down and enjoy the music.

It's coming along nicely... still allot to do though..

1. make the trim around the bass traps
2. make the wall absorbers
3. get the 10x10 rug
4. get the new chair that came in last Friday that Fedex destroyed   :x

Is that the Korato Anniversary?
I demoed the original Korato a couple years back, pretty impressive amp.
Space looks great, and the speakers look like an alien lifeform.
Great work, congrats.  :thumb:

Hi HH.
Can you give us more details on your bass traps?
What are they made of and what is behind them?
Will your wall absorbers made by yourself or purchased already made?
When we move in our new house next year, I will have a real workshop, not a corner of our living room. I will then build different types, models and sizes of wall absorbers, as usual I will experiment. That type of experimentation is not very costly and leave some freedom to your imagination.
Ho yes, our house will have wood floors, that's my wife's idea, to me, it's not a good idea in a country (Vietnam) where thermites a king... My lsitening room (13 X 16 feet) will be on a different floor and the floor will probably made of ceramic tiles. However, I have several rugs that could match my asian decor...
I thought only UPS destroyed things? Well, I hope FedEx is more responsible than UPS, with UPS it's never them that are responsible when a claim arrive.
Keep us posted with plenty of pictures.
Keep up the good work.

Yup.  That's the anniversary amp.  It's a whole different story than the KTA-100 (which is a nice amp in it's own right).

I also loaned him the KVP-20 single chassis tube pre to play with.

He's been biamping with a Class D and an older AB amp (don't remember the name, sorry - Audio Refinement maybe?)  I asked him to try everything full range with the anniversary and see what happens

I had a chance to go out and listen the other day.  The speakers do a lot of things very nicely.  He's still working out some final details but they're certainly going to be something special.

Thanks my friend..

The bass traps consist of multiple layers of Owens Corning 703 cut into 17x17x17 triangles and stacked..

The next step is to trim them out and stain it to match the floor and have a charcoal grill that conceals everything..

......... a charcoal grill that conceals everything.......
Speaker grill cloth from Parts Express.
I've bought quite a bit over the years. Very inexpensive.

Hope that helps,
Bob

Due to Mr. Pape, I also have those yellow triangles stacked in my front corners.  I also need to find the time to trim them out...  Maybe next week.  :duh:
