Up for sale is my Empirical Audio Pace-Car 2 re-clocker which I am using with a stock Logitech Transporter.  If you have any device with a stock word clock input, such as the Transporter, this is an ideal digital setup.  Plug and play with just one simple change in settings.

It was purchased new from Steve Nugent in June 2009, with dual SuperClock4's added and a clock cable, for $1875.

Asking $1250 $1000, US sales only, plus shipping and 3% Paypal.

I also have it listed on Audiogon here: http://cgi.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cl.pl?dgtlconv&1295105087&item

Before you ask, NO it does not have USB input, and NO, it is not upgrade-able to USB 24/192 per EA.  It is, however, a state of the art S/PDIF device at all rates.

Thanks for your interest.  Contact me via PM or email with questions.

From the Audiogon ad:

The Empirical Audio Pace-Car 2 is a sophisticated but simple to use re-clocking device that allows you to choose even the most inexpensive device and transform it into a world-class digital source. Have it all – ease of use and the best digital sound quality.

The Pace-Car 2 is plug-and-play in Mode 1 with a number of CD transports and computer audio sources:

1. PC and Mac
2. Marantz, Esoteric and other CD players with Word-Clock inputs
3. Lynx AES16 and AES16a PCI cards
4. Logitech Transporter
5. All source devices with Word-Clock inputs

It can also be used in Mode 2 with a Squeezebox or Sonos device that has a master clock input added by Cullen Circuits.

The Pace-Car is a true reclocker, not an asynchronous upsampler. The Pace-Car reclocker inserts between your source device and your DAC, buffers the music data stream in a memory and then reclocks it out with an ultra-low jitter clock. The data is not modified an any way, it just passes through. There is a small amount of data that is always stored in the memory, but it will not cause any audible delay in the music start-up.

There are no controls or switches except for the sample-rate select, which is used to provide a word clock output to devices such as the Transporter. It just works!

There are many options available. This particular unit was purchased new from Steve in June 2009, and is configured with S/PDIF, Toslink in and S/PDIF, I2S outputs. There are also SMA coax outputs for both 44khz and 96khz master clocks, as well as the switchable word clock output, which I use with a Logitech Transporter.

It includes two custom Audiocom SuperClock4's, which were a +$600 option and a significant upgrade over the stock clocks. Also included is a Word Clock +$30 and Master Clock cable, depending on which mode you operate the device in.

I will ship within the US only. Shipping and 3% Paypal fees are the buyer's responsibility. Low ball and vague offers will be politely ignored.
