Did y'all hear the rumor that Apple Records and Apple have reached an agreement to release the Beatles catalogue on iTunes?

Never heard of them

So we had to wait all these years to buy compressed Beatles, what a joke.

Yes, but I purchased the Mono & Stereo box sets when they came out.

The great thing is that the Mono version is limited production.

What a joke that was!  Oh well, I got it for regular price when the craze was on and it looks good on the shelf too.   :thumb:

Yeah, consider me underwhelmed. The Beatles deserve to be listened to in a lossless format. I'll get really excited when there is a 24/192 reissue.

I'm somewhat surprised that Apple, the best marketing company in the world, would assume this is huge enough to say that we will remember this day forever.  Hardly (and I'm a huge ginormous Beatle fan).  Most of us baby boomer fans have dozens of copies, including the remasters, bootlegs, etc.  It's not like their music was difficult to find up till now!!  So what do they do...release standard iTunes lossy stuff.  That format is aimed at the youth, who either care not for the Beatles or already have everything for nostalgia sake (or were brought up properly as purists :) ).    Big non-deal IMO.

Great performance in that it showed how innocently they accepted the admiration of the US audiences.  Paul was quoted a saying he thought sometimes that it was a dream, because they couldn't imagine US audiences already knowing all the lyrics, etc.

Oh, and these days for a performer to even move a mike stand , let alone amps and drum sets...ha.

The W-DC performance is indeed news. Hopefully, this will lead to other unreleased live performances, like their two shows in Houston. The KILT broadcast tapes sound fantastic.
