Any opinions, impressions about TTWeights?
Mat, outer ring or weight down?

I have his 400g all copper mat and it is excellently made.  Nice and flat and well machined.  If Larry's other products are as nicely made (I'm sure they are) they are top quality.

Recently picked up a KABUSA record clamp. Reasonably priced alternative although no idea if it works as well as the TT clamp.

How does a clamp sound?  Can't answer that one.

As for my mat.  It works great on some tables and not so great on others.  But I don't think this has anything to do with Larry and his manufacturing process.  The mat is very heavy (I said 400 grams above but I think it's actually 4 pounds!  sorry) and works best with unsuspended tables.  As for the sound, it made the bass far punchier and transients far sharper.  It sounded quite good on my Micro Seiki DDx-1000.  Then I put it on my Oracle Delphi (making all necessary suspension adjustments...sigh) and it made that table sound analytical and dry.  I took it off after a week or so (re-adjusting the suspension...sigh).  One added benefit to it is that it stabilizes record speed due to added inertial mass.  Will it sound good on your table?  Only if you want more attack and sharper bass at the expense of sweetness and liquidity.

I think the periphery ring is more for speed stabilization and less for sonic improvement.

I wouldn't say it provides a huge difference, especially if the album is nice and flat with a tight spindle hole. But for LP's that are slightly warped or have a sloppy spindle hole, it helps alot with coupling the LP to the mat and appears to help keep the stylus riding in the groove. If I had to say anything, it helps tighten up the bass a bit. Subtle but noticeable on some records.

I use the one piece Delrin OEM clamp on my VPI and wouldn't be without it, the music sounds more...relaxed with it in place.  Albeit this is a designed system from the factory.  I've used clamps and weights on other tables and found them to vary in effectiveness, as well as a multitude of various DIY and purchased mats, again with variable effectiveness.  But overall I would say much more to the positive so I would advise going for it, but expect to experiment a bit.

Oh I agree about the clamp.  Both my Oracle's come standard with a clamp and I don't think I could live without one.  But the OP's question was regarding the sound of TTweight's clamps.  I don't think I can comment of the sound of TT's clamps versus another manufacturer's clamps.

Mariusz.  Did you mean to ask the more broad question of what these three items might do to the sound of your rig?  Or did you specifically mean this manufacturer's products over other's?

I have opportunity to purchase 3 items mentioned in my original post.
My question: how these accessories perform and what to expect as far as performance is concern?

Turntable I want to use it with will be this:

I was in the TTWeights room at RMAF this year and last year. The build quality of his clamps, rings, mats and TTs is outstanding. He machines everything to incredibly close tolerances. I bought one of Larry's clamps for my VPI 17 RCM and not only is it far superior to the clamp VPI provides, it covers and protects the label from cleaning fluids. It has a polycarbonate bottom so if you accidently drop it, it won't scratch the record. I inspected several of his clamps & mats, but did not have an opportunity to hear records played with or without his accesssories. I went to his room 4 times this year wanting to hear one of his TTs, but each time he was too busy explaining the engineering design and build quality to play any music. His day job is manufacturing parts for Canadian & US aerospace industries.

I have a VPI MK III platter and bearing with the one piece VPI delrin clamp. I've tried several different kinds of mats from felt to rubber and variants. I've also tried a few different clamps. Nothing worked as well for me as just putting the vinyl on the MK III black platter and using the delrin clamp.

I haven't tried the TT Weights clamp though. Of course, YMMV with a different platter and table.

I have the middleweight, copper outer ring from TTWeights...used on 3 TT's now. Nicely made and the centering device is smart.

The benefit is small...but it damps the plastic (I'd assume to a lower frequency...which is, generally, good) and reduces warps so your stylus can trace things better.

Win-win for me :)

Does a lot more than any configuration of inner ring clamp ever has.  I could never hear the benefits of those myself.
