I won't tap the board at all - I'll do the same thing I did for the remote control board in the last unit I built - put in a second transformer, and add a rectifier/regulator.

I'll use the regulator circuit descrbed on Uriah's website (bottom right corner of pic below)
I've decided to try a 9V battery as the source first, and if that doesn't work I'll try this
Do you want parts for the PSU only or the whole unit?
