So, rearranging a bit so thought i would post an old pic of the room and let folks "visualize" what i am thinking might work

Yes, those were Green Mountain Audio speakers that were replaced by the N2X. How things look now...the wood storage unit to the left of the computer desk is gone....the monitor is now down one level...nothing on the top level anymore...the white cabinets are now almost to the side wall with the N2X's on stands btwn them...

I got a couple of 2x2 ikea expedits and want to place them against the wall with the speakers in front..one expedit against the wall and to the left of the left speaker and one expedit to the left of the right speaker and against the wall.

Just not sure how the sound will be affected if at all.

Thoughts??

I dont think you want to get to close to the back wall with the port! I know with the N3 T.L.s I had the same dilema, but not as close to the back wall as you are. Danny said the port can be reconfigured to the front without any problems on the N3 Transmission line. Im not sure if you can do this with the N2X?

N2X don't have a port so your good to go anywhere that works...enjoy!!!

In my room,I tried my n2x against the wall and it really flattened out the depth of the soundstage. I need at least 24 inches off the wall for a full,deep soundfield.

Tweeter looks like it would too high. Try flipping them upside down so the tweet is more at ear level.

From where i sit the tweeter is at ear level so no problems there...

I prefer the sound of the N2X to the Europa's, but, seeing as to where I had to station the Europa's I don't think it was a fair comparison...

My main concern is having the Ikea expedit in back of the N2X's...???

yeah i know, but the room is what it is, at least there isn't a port so that helps a bit...hoping that Danny pops in to let me know his thoughts...

If it were mine, I think I'd consider some heavy curtains to run over the front of all the shelves. It could look really nice and clean, protect the stuff on the shelves from dust, and make the walls (or space) behind the speakers more acoustically transparent. It would also make the room quieter and everything would sound better.

Well, the lp shelves were deeper then I thought so actually the N2X's and stands are right next to them.  With me sitting 5-6 ft away and them almost against the wall I wonder if aiming them straight ahead is better then toeing them in at me....

Will probably need my significant other to help as I probably won't remember what one position of the speakers sounds like compared to another when I stop and switch them around
