Hi,

So I have Tranquility Dac and 2010 mac mini...

I don't yet have an ipad but that is what I plan to get ... (unless people have other suggestions like using a laptop)

The question is what user interface (hardware - ipad / laptop) and Applications (Play, Remote etc.) are people using to not not only make the Tranquility sound as good as it can but also easy and fun to use ... make it wife friendly ...

In other words how to get a Sooloos interface on budget

Super Thanks
Sunil.

I'm using Mac OS X with Pure Music as the software player. Since Pure Music integrates with iTunes, you can use the "Remote" app for the iPod/iPad/iPhone and it works really well. You can browse through your library of artists, albums, songs and playlists etc from your mobile device.

Simple to setup. Setup iTunes with all your music and have your mobile device detected by iTunes (just install the app on your mobile device and it will search for a host when you add a Library).

That's what I use and I have no USB devices in the Mac Mini except for the DAC and have no display connected to the Mac Mini either, for a headless, optimal operation. All focus is on the sound quality and ease of operation.

Hope that helps.

Best,
Clayton

What remote apps people have tried for mac-mini -> USB Dac.

I am looking for a very easy to use / intuitive user interface - so my wife can easily use the system and explore more music ...

Thanks

PS: Please feel free to point me to another thread - if this has already been discussed elsewhere ... I just did not look hard enough ... good day

Perhaps I am not clear in asking ... will restate the problem ...

I am looking for recommendations / experiences for user interface applications (easy to use) when using USB DACs ...

Example what applications you use to remotely access / control / play and browse your music library using macmini -> USB DAC

Thanks

Apple Remote application that runs full screen on the iPad controls iTunes remotely.  If you want to run Songbird, there is a Songbird remote app for the iPhone/iPad too.  I doubt that the Songbird remote app is better than the Apple iTunes Remote app, but you never know.

Here is a link to the Apple iTunes Remote Application for iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad:

http://www.apple.com/itunes/remote/

It is easy to use and seems "fun".
