I spent an hour listening to a surround setup of Anthem products driving a set of S8's, S4's and Signature ADP series surrounds and a Signature C5 centre speaker (no sub). I auditioned both movies (Thomas Crown Affair) and a DTS copy of Sting's Brand New Day. I did no two channel listening, and didn't get a chance to hear anything in true DVD-Audio or SACD. Nevertheless these speakers are very good. For their price point they're amazing. They do not sound like Paradigm Reference speakers (which in and of themselves are good). They seem more revealing and free of some of what I think is the reference series closed in (?boxy, nasal) sound. If I wasn't already heavily invested in PMC speakers these would be very high on my list of "next purchases".
