Speaking of Ellington, a friend loaned me his copy of Money Jungle w/ Ellington, Mingus, and Roach. A '62 session remastered DMM by Blue Note and pressed in '86 from the original three channels. So clean and detailed. Mr. RV Gelder never did it this well. Also, this isn't your bored, over the hill Ellington sitting back directing his band. He is front and center, creating stuff that even Mingus hadn't imagined. Normally I try to find early pressings, but I'm on the hunt for this remaster.
