Chico Hamilton has been around since the 50's. I'm surprised he still is. Loved his band with Charles Lloyd and Gabor Szabo. Saw them several times at The Jazz Workshop in S.F. That would have been in the 70's, I think. Cheers.
Had the LP back in the day, wish I still did. It was one of those 'flashbacks' this thread brings on now & again. Once I 'remembered' him I started back-tracking, so far have bought all the remaster sets of his available, as well as 'stealing' a CD of The Master from Azon (happened to check on it at just the right time, $11+). Love all his work. Sadly he passed late in '13 @ 92, a good life & a heck of a legacy. Have a great weekend jimd.
