Coltrane gets tagged with the moniker "angry tenor."
He said "It is interpreted as angry.  It is taken wrong.
The only one I'm angry at is myself when I don't make what I'm trying to play."

This album, one of my favorites for decades now, "Ballads"  shows a gentler man which I think he must have been in real life.  This music confirms that to me.

Songlist:
Say It
Nancy with the Laughing Face
You don't know what love is
Too young to go steady
All or Nothing at All
I wish I knew
What's new
It's easy to remember
Nancy with the laughing face.
