As often, inspired by this thread. Working from home as the reno upstairs goes on...
Try zooming out on your screen. 75% should do it.
Another great one from the prolific John Zorn - I love his Dreamers stuff
Thanks for noticing and the suggestion. I normally run my browser at 150% so I did try that, even ran it down to 50% and it simply reformatted the upload window and still did not show the bottom buttons. Any other suggestions most appreciated. How is the sound on that Benny Green at the VV? I'm a huge fan of VV recordings but do not have that one. Yet. If Allmusic is correct Jim Anderson engineered the date, so I'd imagine it sounds fantastic.
Phineas Newborn: Harlem BluesPhineas: PianoRay Brown: BassElvin Jones: DrumsWonderful album by the sadly underrated pianist from 1969.
The only other thing I can think of right now is to play woith your screen resolution. The sound on the Benny Green is very good. The sound on these two are also very good. Strangley, the albums were released 5 years apart when the recordings actually were mase I think on the same night.http://www.allmusic.com/album/ballad-and-blues-master-mw0000079701http://www.allmusic.com/album/every-night-live-at-vine-st-mw0000193290
Though I haven't heard that album, I agree he was underrated. Do you have this one by Phineas?http://www.allmusic.com/album/here-is-phineas-mw0000239674
Yes, that Phineas is excellent as well, he's got quite a discog, albeit a limited one. If you do digital that Harlem Blues is available in very limited quantities at Elusive Disc as a great, I mean great, sounding XRCD remastered by Alan Yoshida. It's on Slamazon new for almost $1500 and used for $250 Saw it on ebay for about $100 used. Just picked it up new for $26.99. Score. Don't wait too long, it's gone at Acoustic Sounds and Music Direct.
Thanks for the heads up. I found a new redbook cd of Harlem Blues for $5.18 plus shipping from Amazon. There's also a high-res (44.1/24) copy of We Three (Rudy Van Gelder Remaster) by Paul Chambers and Phineas Newborn and Roy Haynes on Pono Music for 12.99 which is a very good price. HD tracks watns 17.99 for the same download.http://www.allmusic.com/album/we-three-mw0000372505I have two other very good Phineas Newborn albums:http://www.allmusic.com/album/a-world-of-piano%21-mw0000194058http://www.allmusic.com/album/the-great-jazz-piano-of-phineas-newborn-jr-mw0000206525
