Mine would be Charles Mingus' "Pithecanthropus Erectus" and John Coltrane's "Soultrane". These are the mono recordings that I can suspend disbelief for however long and imagine that I am listening to live, not recorded, music, in spite of the fact that there is only one audio channel. What are other people's picks/recs?

Sorry the Yamamoto SACD is Stereo, not mono.   I meant say this mono live SACD was one of my favorite.

They would have to be all of the original Beatles records I got from the in-laws... all dusty but in near mint condition once I washed them.

And this one...

For music I prefer Stereo, but for see TV I really prefer mono, because it give a more natural feel.
Anyway there is great music on Jazz and Classic mono discs, I was surprised by various mono Jazz SACDs, the sound are great, as these two above, very better than CDs, regular CDs are bad sound also in mono.

I prefer stereo too, but there is the occasional gem like Pithecanthropus Erectus that makes me forget the sound system and just listen to the music. After all, that's what I want an audio system to do: disappear (figuratively that is) and just leave the music.

With SACDs I no more reject mono recordings, I remember there is a Brubeck mono SACD with great music I must buy.
