I just got an email from Netflix letting me know that PS3 integration is software based now and the PS3 streaming disc is no longer needed. Its a small download and "Boom"...Netflix on the PS3!!!

Yea, and I just got my disc in the mail a few days ago. 
Only had a chance to use it once. I'm very disappointed in the quality of the streaming though. Kinda reminded me of VHS.

The updated interface is a huge improvement over the one used on the disc.  I really like the idea of not having to use the disc any longer.  I know it's lazy, but I found it to be a real pain. 

I stream Netflix all of the time with a 3meg connection without any complaints on a 58" TV.  Love my Netflix!

For whatever reason I think the quality of the streaming media is much better now, I love Netflix...the last great bargain out there!!

I'm not sure the video quality is any better, but I didn't try to compare. Honestly, I never had an issue with the quality for most content to begin with. I never expected it to be blu-ray.

I will say that the interface is MUCH better than what the disc used. Faster and much better layed out. Definitely an improvement.

Bob, something may have been lagging your connection. I noticed that when I first connected the content was slightly pixelated(sp?) but this resolved in a second. Just something to consider.

We've got a Wii and a PS3. Would be interesting to check for differences in quality, but the Wii is on a 50" plasma and the PS3 is on the 140" projection rig. I'm not too interested in undoing all the wiring to A/B them side-to-side.

Might have to play with it tonight, if time allows. Would be great to stream live instead of waiting on snailmail (wow, we're getting spoiled).

MMmm... Possible. I can't recall, but the boy may have been gaming online upstairs while we were watching. But it was pixelated, laggy and glitchy almost as bad as satellite tv does when there's a bad storm.

Looks ok on my wii (50" plasma).........and a very fast internet connection. It's not hidef, but it looks as good as normal television. The disc is no longer needed on the Wii.

I originally paid the lifetime fee for TiVO HD sometime ago pretty much because the Netflix HD streaming quality looks amazing even on a 60" Kuro! That, and we don't pay for cable so the guide and DVR comes in handy.

I'm not sure, but wanted to toss out that a friend of mine thought that the netflix streaming was a self scaling resolution.  I'm not sure I have described it correctly, but the faster your internet service speed, the better the video quality.  He thought it does a buffer/cache when starting up which gauges how much resolution to continue to send you.  He mentioned on weekends and holidays (busy internet bandwidth times) the quality was not a good as during a weekday.  He claims he gets HD quality sometimes, but generally not on peak weekend prime time.

I've used the netflix provided DVD for streaming only for a couple of months and have yet to be impressed with the video quality.  It's better than old 480 standard def, but not quite high def from what I've seen so far.
