Has this happen to You?

I was watching TV, baseball playoffs or was it football with TV on mute. When I decided it was time to listen to some tunes. Only to realize the stereo was already playing. :duh:

I'm not sure how to explain, which for me was a phenomena. I was listening to some new age electronic instrumental, that wasn't very engaging. I think the sports game had ended, so now I wanted to listen to some engaging music. I actually got up to turn the stereo on when I realized music was already playing. I thought this is boring music, but decided to listen till the end of the cd.

I think it means that I'm hearing the music and not the equipment. The un-engaging music melded with my passive mood, thereby forgetting or not realizing I was listening to the stereo, until my focus shifted from the TV. :?

I like to watch sports with no sound, with  the stereo playing music. I really do not like to listen to the constant chatter of the sports announcers. I only un-mute to hear what the flag (in football) was for, sometimes.
As for not realizing music was playing, I have the opposite problem: Sometimes when napping, or waking up, I can hear music playing (in my head I guess) and it sounds like I just left the stereo on. Usually the music is one of my favorites.
Another oddity of mine is upon hearing a sudden, unexpected noise, I see a burst of fireworks, or kaleidoscope like lightshow, every time it is different, but encompasses my entire visual field for a split second.
The sound must be unexpected for it to happen, and it actually does not have to be very loud, and it never lasts more than a very short time, well under a second.

Hmmm... Watch sports or listen to music

"No-brainer."

Listen to music  :thumb:

Interestingly enough, after cancelling our Bell Express View service earlier this year - I find that we do not miss it at all.

Be well...
