Can you handle handles ?
« on: 16 Oct 2010, 10:02 pm »
I can't handle handles.

I hope all new Bryston amplifiers will be handles-free, or handles-free as an option.
(and it could also have a positive price implication for the customers)

The 14B SST amplifier is beautiful:

And the 4B SST2 would have been beautiful if it was not for the handles.

Do you like or dislike the handles ?

I believe that all Bryston amplifiers are available in either a 19" wide version with handles or a 17" wide version without handles.

My amplifier dream (!) is a "Bryston B300 SST2" :)
That is an integrated amplifier: 4B sst2 (without handles) with the BP 26 pre amplifier integrated :)

You may be right. I have never seen a 4b sst2 without handles (on the internet or in real life).

My Bryston amps (14BSST and 6BSST) are w/o handles.  I for looks I prefer them w/o handles.  They do come in handy for moving.  My 6BSST has handles in the rear at least.  In my secondary bedroom system, I can only have an amp with very shallow depth (it sits behind the center channel).  I have an old Adcom 555 for now and one day I'll grab a used 3BST w/o handles

All of my Bryston amps are the 17in without handles, so they will fit into my old Bozak equipment cabinet.

While I don't have mine in cabinets (for now), that's one reason I also like no handles.  If I end up with the 3BST in the secondary bedroom system, the model with the handles won't fit.

According to an earlier post by James the overall market is 70% 17 inch faceplate (no handles) and 30% 19 inch faceplate (Handles).

Handles. They bring out that PRO industrial look.  :icon_twisted:

Well I like to be different,

So ALL my SST amps are Black and 19" wide.

They are all the PRO version so come with handles as standard and rack mounting holes (My kit is all racked up)

BUT.... I remove the handles and replace the screw with the flush fit one.

As nothing else in the racks have handles I prefer the Brystons without, and then they match the BCD / BDA / BP26 / MPS2.

But in many other systems here they look great with handles.
