New Bryston Owner 28B/Torus
« on: 16 Oct 2010, 08:05 pm »
have been lurking on these forums since i got some channel islands audio 500's from dusty for my home theatre.
however, finally today my 28B/Torus RM16AVR arrived. i am using them to drive a pair of Maxx 3's to great result. incredible bass and punch.
much more so than my halcro dm78's or audio research 210's

currently using an audio research ref 5 pre with the brystons and naim hdx as a front end. it's fantastic user interface and the comfort of having my whole library at my fingertip made it a favourite over my audio research cd-8 or dcs p8i.

more input once i've had more time to listen....

pics of the various stages my main listening setup is going through....

also feel the need to add that the people at bryston are an absolute pleasure to deal with.

anyone know if the BIT faceplate will be available as retrofit to the torus ?

yup, i have the avr's. they do a GREAT jib of dealing with voltage dips that are a constant nuisance here in egypt.

i e-mailed brian to see if the would do custom faceplates for me. would simply look so much better....

If you are enjoying them new right out of the box just wait when you put some hours on them, enjoy they are great amps. You have some really nice pces, ARC pre pairs up nicely with them.

Where abouts are you located?

I'm truly enjoying mine.

How's the pricing of Torus CS 16A AVR over there in Egypt at USD term?  It's around $7,333 in Thailand.
