Decided to go with a Rogue Cronus Magnam.  My room is 15w x 20l  x 8 - sitting accross the width end.

Can someone suggest a good pair of speakers that match and will sound clear not overpower the room with too much bass. 

Also will need a decent DAC to match this amp.

Just moved in so the room is pretty empty so far with a couch and TV hard wood floors. that it.

And, space?  How much room do you have?  Room for floorstanding speakers?  Or only bookshelves?  Room for subs?  And will you eventually do more room treatments?

For bookshelves I'd rec the Geddes speakers, and for floorstanders the GR Research V1 or V2.

I've read the reviews also....looks like a solid amp. You have 90 watts...there are many choices.

The only speaker I have heard with the Cronus Magnum is the Nola Boxer monitor.  I thought the two matched quite well.  I think they're $1,500/pair w/o stands.  Good bass response too even for their size.  90 tube watts is enough to drive nearly every speaker so don't worry too much about speaker sensitivity.  With a question like that you'll likely get everyone's favorite speaker for under $2K with very few having actually heard the combo.  While the Nola is not my favorite speaker for under $2K I have spent some time listening and enjoying the pair.

As for DAC, I think the best bargain in cheap dacs right now is the Beresford at $279.  There are a number of sub $1K dacs I haven't heard yet.  But I have directly compared the Beresford to the Oppo 83SE (which competes with $3-4K players) and the little dac kept up with the competition.

I have matched a pair of Salk Songtowers with a Rogue Cronus Magnum in a room of similar dimension. Highly recommended. Try some NOS RCA cleartops for a little extra depth to the soundstage.

I saw a Cronus Magnum recently and it was actually factory fitted with what appeared to be RCA Cleartop 12AU7s.  SCORE!
