There are more vintage audio folks, they just don't know it yet.  Once the bug bites them, it's over...

Eh, I'm about half and half. I got rid of a lot of vintage stuff because I just don't want the headache of repairs. Used to be all I had. I am a fan of the older Luxman, Marantz, Sumo, Soundcraftsmen, and other assorted stuff.

Obviously there are some "unobtanium" parts when it comes to vintage gear, but at least you can fix it most of the time. With most of the gear (SS anyway) produced in the last 20 years, it engineered to be thrown away if it quit working.

You are correct good sir, I had some kind of weird dual-stage cap go out on an old Marantz receiver that was was definitely made out of unobtanium. I'm getting ready to go through my old Nak and do some upgrading on it. And my venerable B&W DM7MkII are still outstanding and work as if brand new.
