I have a Optonica SA-5406 receiver & haven't been able to find any specs on it. I would like to know around when it was made & how many watts it puts out.
Thanks for any help,
Mark

The Optonica SA-5406 was sold from 1980-81. It was made by Sharp Electronics in Japan.

It was rated at 65 wpc. Original suggested retail was $470.00. Often sold for $300.00.

Here's an old vintage ad which includes it - http://tech.mit.edu/archives/VOL_100/TECH_V100_S0514_P010.pdf

Mark,I got out a 1980 mag,Stereo Equipment. The other helper was right.65 watts. It had .05% Thd,and Im distortion.S/N 45 db.I'm going to read the rest...This receiver has a design that ensures large power output without distortion.A dual power supply adds extra amplifier stability. The FM front end has a 4 gang varible capicitor to get superior reception. The Opto Lock tuding system locks in stations and prevents drift.Other features include an FM air check calibrator and FM muting switch.Rock on Mark ...Mark K.
