Jim,

Thanks! A must read, I agree. In fact, there is so much detail in this interview, that if you don't understand it the first time, read it again, again and again. Especially when Duke discusses the advantages of controlled directivity and bass optimization. If all newbies could read this, understand it, they would be way ahead.

Kudos!

Anand.

Well I'm one of these, "newbies" in question here. I have about 4 months logged into this ever so consuming hobby. I think Rocket's advice is spot on. I was taking advice on what to purchase simply by what members told me to do.

Heres how I figured it out. I purchased VR33's and asked for advice about placement. I had about 20 different opinions as to what would sound best. I moved these damn beasts around my room everytime someone commented. Then a light came on and I placed them where they sound best to me. Now I relax and hear music instead of trying to listen for faults.

Don't misunderstand me here, alot of you helped me out bigtime and I sure appreciate this site, but in the end, as a newb, I think its what sounds best to you.
