How else are you gonna end something like this: :green:

I'm gonna tell you how it's gonna be, you're gonna give your love to me,
I will love you night and day, know our love not fade away

My love is bigger than a Cadillac, I try to show you but you drive me back,
Your love for me has got to be real, your gonna know just how I feel.
Love is real not fade away
Know our love not fade away

Not fade away, not fade away
not fade away, not fade away
Know our love not fade away

not fade away, not fade away
not fade away, not fade away
Know our love not fade away

Thanks for posting this.  The fade out still bugs me even if some of those reasons seem legit.  I still think "it's better to burn out than fade away."

I think a lot of songs fade out so they don't end up like Iron Butterfly's Ina Godda Da Vida.  Reportedly, those guys were so stoned when recording it that they didn't know when or how to end it, so they just kept playing without realizing how long it was.

It's one of my favorite songs, and the stupidity or stonedness of the guys definitely adds to it, but I don't think it would ever work again for anyone else.

The one that bugs me is Otis Redding's "Try a Little Tenderness".
