I assume BNC is an option as opposed to RCA coax?

Why do you assume that?

We certainly can install BNC connectors on a new AVA DAC order if you supply us with the connectors to install.  We will do this at no extra cost.

Of course this would turn the order into a custom one-off product and we would request that you waive our 30 day satisfaction guarantee in writing when you order.

Note that these larger size connectors may overlap the printing on our back panel labels and we cannot have a one-off custom back panel label done to eliminate this possibility.

Note also that we can do this only on the standard Vision DAC or only on the analog outputs on the Vision EC DAC.  There is not physical room for two BNC coax digital inputs in the space available on the multi-input Vision EC DAC.

One major caution, the digital inputs on some of our DACs are not grounded directly to the back panel at their attachment points.  You will need to send us BNC jacks that have the capability to have their ground side connections isolated from the chassis, with appropriate insulating shoulder washers for both sides.

Wouldn't an adapter work just as well?  Or maybe a custom-built adapter/cord (much like the Grado 1/4" to mini phono-plug)?

Of course a better solution yet if you must have BNC fittings on one end, is to just order the appropriate cables from Blue Jeans.  I recently purchased new scope cables from them, BNC on the scope ends, RCA on the equipment ends.

This eliminated an annoying occasional dropout at the BNC to RCA adaptors previously used on the equipment ends.
