Old vinyl and NFB.

Hi vinyl lovers.
I want to share something with all of you, something I just discover, however, nothing extraordinary, but still; I think it’s worth sharing.
I have a collection of about 25 LPs from the Ventures, some of them are 40 years old and most of them are not the latest in hi tech recording technology, therefore, they sound a little too bright.
I have on my Niteshade Audio tube amplifier model NS-15 a NFB (Negative Feed Back) adjusting pot, located in the back of the amplifier. At first I was wondering what was the use of that adjustment, since most of the good tube amplifiers try to avoid any feed back. Blair from Niteshade Audio told me that it’s a useful adjustment to balance the speakers to your room. (I hope if I am wrong, Blair or anyone else will jump in and correct me).
What I did is to adjust the pot until some of the brightness (Harshness) was almost gone completely, without removing some fine details at the high end of the frequency spectrum.
It works quite good, minds you a good recording would be the way to go, but the Ventures are no more… Therefore, I have to live with what I have.
Any comments and/or suggestions are welcome.

Note :
I love the sound of the Venture’s guitars.
