I called the man I bought it from he says no but there is a trade in program. He'll make a call
on Monday and get back with a price. But to be honest I can't afford it at this time after just
buying the platter from an Aries to put on my VPI. I may have to look at other cartridges
that cost less...........Bill

Sorry to hear about your misfortune Bill,, especially after looking at the cost of your loss. I won't needle you about it.

Maybe one of your many local friends will see this thread and have a backup loaner cartridge for ya to borrow til you can afford the trade-in option???

I wanted to remove the tonearm as I'm upgrading the platter and a spacer is needed to raise the tonearm, went to put on the stylus guard and slipped distorting the cantilever, it's NFG now. I'm calming down some now and looking at my options
I will wait till I here from my Dynavector dealer in Chicago on Monday. I put my Kenwood KD 770D in place for now it has
a Goldring 1012 MM and believe me it's no slouch. But it does not have the same sound. I thought I would have this cartridge for years but we all know how that goes.......Bill

I got my Orto X5-MC for around $250 brand new... I have no $2000 cart to compare it to but I have have some good ones, and nothing else I have will match it.

Another AC member has a 20x with a Soundsmith ruby cantilever and likes it quite a bit. Been thinking of sending them my Benz for one. Another option if the trade-in is too expensive.

I got a call about an hour ago he has a used 20xl or xh that are demo cartridges that has played 2 LP's each

I hate when I do things like that; some days everything just seems to wind up on the floor (usually bent or broken).

No Steve not yet, it's 2 1/2 hours plus one way and I haven't taking the trip yet
I'm going here in 2 weeks from today, a 35 min. drive and then take the train into Penn Station
