I don't want to bother Klaus, but does anyone know if the faceplates on the Stratus is easily replaced?  Is it something a technically challenged novice like myself could do with a Phillips or something?  My Extremes are in Burgandy, but I now feel the need for Silver or Black instead.  If it means sending them back to Klaus I wouldn't do it.

Randy,

The faceplates are not hard to change. You need several sizes of hex wrenches (otherwise known as Allen wrenches) and a little patience.

Basically you just remove the top - 6 bolts, remove the LED's - 2 bolts and then remove the 4 bolts holding the faceplate on. Put it back together in reverse order.

Of course be sure they are unplugged, getting zapped is never fun. :D

Thanks, Mike.  Sounds easy enough.  I may try it.

A miniature rachet wrench and hex (Allen) bit comes in VERY handy when dismantling any part of the Stratos case.  Some of the Allen screws are very hard to reach.  Patience is always a prerequisite, in some cases beer is another essential

However, beer leads to scratches.
And there's no Stratos case patches.
So be real patient,
Or cry over your scratch/dent.   :P

Randy,

Which are you going with?  Flat or gloss wet black?  Or silver like mine?

Hi Bob,
Just giving it some thought right now.  I sure like the look of your silver ones, though.

Max,
Didn't know platinum was available.  Sounds interesting.
