I have not. I probably won't purchase it, but it would be fun to take a listen.

I just can't imagine he has done anything with the covers that would make me want to listen to his rendering rather than the originals and don't even think that was the intent... seems more like something fun he is doing because he has reached the status of being able to do whatever he wants as a musician. Or maybe he can't come up with anything original?!? idk.

The man himself has been interviewed a couple of times on the BBC recently (here in UK). He is quite clear - his intent was to be as close / true to the original sound as possible. He even had a bunch of the original musicians guest in the studio.

Just this afternoon I heard him explain that he joined Genesis at 19 and therefore never got the opportunity to spend months / years playing with local bands in pubs and clubs playing covers.

I have heard a couple or three tracks broadcast in association with the interviews and apart from it being a Phil Collins vocal there is nothing new or original about them, except of course they are all gathered together.

Apparently he has had some problems with his left arm, undergone surgery and actually doesn't know whether he will be able to play drums again on tour.

Thanks for the youtube link... was disappointed there were no previews on amazon. Now I see why. Definitely not for me.
