squeezebox - pace car - numerik?
« on: 28 Sep 2010, 02:34 am »
Hi.
I've got a Squeezebox Classic and a late model Linn Numerik DAC. As the Numerik has a reclocking capability of its own when mated with a Linn Karik cdp, does anybody know if a Squeezebox can be modded so it will interact with the Numerik in the same manner that the Karik does to reduce jitter?
Or would a modded Squeezebox - Pacecar - Numerik setup be the answer? I like the Numerik which, in its last iterations still has a fair legion of followers, of which I am one. I posted this on the Empirical Audio Circle too, as I'm trying to cast the widest net that I can.

thanks

Bill

The SB/PaceCar work as a slave/master clock after the SB has been modded to work as a slave to the PaceCar.

If your DAC is set up to work as a master clock, I assume a similar mod would be needed  to match the SB with the Numerik.

The PaceCar is a great solution (I own one one of the older models), but pricey. If you can mod the SB to work with the Numerik, that would be a more cost effective solution.

Cullen Circuits does the SB mods for the PaceCar. I'd contact them and ask about mods.
