Pace Car 2 USB & Hi End USB
« on: 28 Sep 2010, 12:50 am »
Have a New Pace Car 2 USB about a week now & love it so far.  I know Steve says there is no benefit to using a upgraded USB cable.  Has anyone out there experimented at all.  Using a Wireworld Starlight USB but have not tried a generic cable yet.

Thanks......Mike

I think you're good with that USB cable.  Save the money and go get some music.

Is it worth doing let's say a Locus Axis cable? That's what I really want to know.  I know it's subjective, just wondering if anyone has tried different cables and what the outcome was. I don't want to beat a dead horse.
Krell says that their cast system won't benefit from better cables but I know first hand that they make a difference. Have tried four different lines over the years.  Thought maybe someone has already played around.

Hard for me to believe that Steve would say there's no benefit if there is one. He does recommend hi-end cables in other applications.

If I were you I'd borrow a cable or get a dealer to loan you a demo before putting out the big bucks for a high-end one.

In any case I'm not sure how much the experience of others will help you, as the results of cable switching seem to be system based. In other words, YMMV.

It's getting re-clocked after the USB transfer.  So why spend big on the USB? :dunno:

I don't condition power going into my regenerator for the same reason.  Cables down stream of the Pace Car can make a difference.

P.S.  It would matter to my wife.  She cleans the house before the cleaning lady comes on Wednesdays.  She says house should be presentable to the cleaning person.

Most women do this BTW, you are not alone.
