I was curious about those myself and I have heard the Founteks can sound pretty good with the proper design? I was also eyeballing the Seas Idunn kit which is around the same price range, it seems like a great deal for quality Seas drivers and all. I havent heard any of them but Josh from Madisound said they offer very good performance but more subdued in detail and bass compared with the ScanSpeak Rediscovery. He of course mentioned the ZRT 2.5 way offering better performance due to the extra driver and use of the 6600 AirCirc? "Gosh" I wish they would offer a Home tryout, so you would at least get a chance to listen to what you build! I have to admit this is one of the biggest reasons holding me back from buying these DIY kits or any speakers for that matter.

I apologize for responding to you so late! Yes, the Idunn kit you will find unders "Seas" DIY kits on Madisounds site. I have not heard these so take it with a grain of salt, however sound quality is supposed to be typical Seas, which is excellent! The DXT tweeters have a nice wide dispertion, although it is crossed over a little high in my opinion at 2.3 kHz? I am having a very hard time deciding on the Idunn, Revelator 2 way using the Peerless
SDS tweeter or GR-research N3 or N3S? I know the divers on the Madisound kit are exceptional, however my concern is the overall package including crossover design and from what I hear very few people

are as talanted as Danny Richie in offering high fidelity products for a reasonable price! Of course I would love to have a speaker pair with ne of the best drivers around, but I also want the proper design and components to match in order to get that cost no object sound quality! Granted I have not heard any of these speakers and if they would allow a free in home tryout minus shipping of course, I would have tried these long ago.  Have not read a single review of the Idunn or Revelator, but I have read many regarding GR-Research N3 as well as many of his other designs and I have not read one negative review and that speaks volumes! Mr Richie answerd all my questions and he actualy helped me out on some purchasing mistakes in the past, he is also brutely honest, even if it hurts! So I am pretty much decided on his N3, although it's a bit hard for a first time DIY, yes I am a virgin. I need to build or get Ruben from "Out of the Woods to build a cabinet and I have to build the crossover "Yikes" so there are some fears holding me back a little
as well as the fact I am a family man of average income. I do not feel that guilty however as I don't Golf, hang out at bars or spend my money on anything else, well I am somewhat of and Astronomy buff also, but lite pollution has killed that itch long ago! The Madisound Kits have everything including the cabinets and it's all comming from one source, so that might be  easier for someone as well? If you do happen to purchase the Idunn kit, I would appreciate your feedback on it out of curiousity. I did remember reading something about the Idunn being one of that designers favourite speakers for detail as well as musicality, however that can mean anything including a sales pitch? Good luck

I just got the tour N2X's and they have pretty much changed my mind..Danny has it figured out for sure and GR seems to be the way to go. If I do a kit, the DIY bug has bitten me, I think GR's stuff is really the only way to go for me. Considering all components, including the knowledge of designing the crossovers he brings to the table, its an easy decision. Thanks Zero!! :thumb:

Sounds great! I am leaning that way also although I'm still curious about the others! How would you compare the N2X with other quality speakers you have listened to? Dynamics, detail, frequency response ect? I have 2 subwoofers including a GR nonservo 12" so I'm curious if a sealed N3s would blend on better with the subs compared to the tower it's and easier build as it's easy to purchase curved cabinets from P.E. And modify them. Of course the Transmission line tower is better for 2 channel only, but I need a sub! Good luck!
