PMD100 - AD1862
« on: 27 Sep 2010, 09:51 am »
I have a PMD and a pair of 1862's.   This used to be considered a great starting point for building a DAC.  I had been planning building an ultimate DAC with all shunt power and discrete sero feedback analog stage.

However folks are now saying the PMD100 is not as good as the FPGA DSP programed upsamplers like used on Audio-gd and Berkley Audio DAC's.

Anyone care to comment on this as I haven't heard the new oversamplers.

Oh man!!! We love cheap DACs.
You might also try posting it in the Lab and reach those who actually build around it or have that knowledge you seek.
