Hi,

I just ordered a Rega P3-24 and the salesman recommended an Audio Note IQ1. Anybody have any opinions on this cartridge?

No opinion but do you like the Goldring 1042? Apparently it's custom made by Goldring for them.

I don't know if Goldring actually manufacturers them. Nagaoka makes the 2000 series for Goldring and might make the 1000 series as well. Brief discussion here:

I don't think you can cheat the Audio Note price structure by buying a similar Goldring. I've been thinking about getting an IQ2 or IQ3 myself, so I have been researching it a little bit.

 According to Peter Q. of AN, the only common parts the IQ shares with Goldring is the body. The generator, the magnet, the suspension, and cantilever are all proprietary to the IQ range. The diamonds are proprietary on the IQ2 and IQ3.
