« on: 24 Sep 2010, 06:26 am »
James,
I am excited about next month's Rocky Mountain Audiofest because I am guessing you will be releasing the new BDP-1 to the world. I was wondering what hi rez files you will be playing? Will some be lo rez as well?

If anyone's going, I'd love to hear about Naim's UnitiQute.  In addition to anything and everything Bryston, of course.

BTW I'm ready with the first BDP-1 "app". Basically it analyzes what kind of music you already have on the HD and it automatically downloads some more, similar tracks via Bittorrent. All you need is a working network connection. No GUI / fiddling with settings / manuals needed. E.g. just place one Beatles track on your HD and soon you'll have all the Beatles tracks there, plus Rolling Stones as a bonus.

So how do I submit it to the "Bryston app store"?

Nap.  :green:

P.S. The app is free. There's a paid "premium" version too which, in addition to the basic functionality, also checks that the downloaded tracks are of the highest resolution available. For Audiocircle members it's discounted to $9.99 only.

James is being coy about what he is bringing :P... He's going to have some amps, some preamps and some sources... I'll be bringing some speakers. We will play them loud, and we will make people smile.  :thumb:

We had very good sound last year, and this year should be a step up from last year.

Actually, everything sounds good when it's loud. I'd be a million times more impressed when it sounds excellent when it is barely audible. That is when true quality shows.

We will be sure to play for you at borderline audible listening levels for you.

I agree - a system that lets you hear a pin drop is better than a system that lets you hear a train coming through your listening room. :thumb:

I disagree  :nono:

I much prefer to have a system that lets you hear the most haunting and delicate “ping” of a pin hitting a steel rail and then experience the thunderous roar of a freight train running over that said pin.

 :P

Be well...
