Do people sit down at this show or is it pretty much an on-your-feet affair?

I'm not sure which three letters sum things up better... WOW or OMG!!!

What an incredible show Wednesday night (10/13) at the Nassau Coliseum.  Sound system was excellent (much better than I expected it to be at a venue that size), Roger Waters and his band were great and the props, staging, video and theatrics were unimaginable!  Like BobM said in his post; this wasn't just a concert... it was an EVENT to behold!

What was truly amazing to me was how the visuals and focal points were arranged in a way that they diverted your attention to one specific area of the stage/arena and before anybody knew it there was some sort of equipment, prop, backdrop, change completed somewhere else! All of a sudden you'd realize it and ask yourself "...where the hell did that come from and when did it happen!?" Whoever designed and orchestrated the overall production was a genius!

If you have the opportunity to see this show, don't think twice... just GO!  :thumb:

Great show last night in Columbus, OH.  As others have stated, the visuals are just fantastic.  I am jealous of those folks out there who will get to see Roger and David together as the synergy they have together musically is impossible to duplicate.

Been to probably 250+ concerts thus far (32 yrs old) ranging from Paul Simon, Dylan, and Phish to Pantera and Jay-Z & Eminem ( wife made me go) and this was by far the best "show" I've seen to date.  I looked at my wife a couple minutes in and she was crying!  She said this was her "Beatles" moment.  This is the first time I've seen any member of Pink Floyd live, but have listened since I was a kid with my dad.

So glad I spent the money for this experience.  The guitar tone was very close to any live Gilmour I've heard, but there were a couple times when I thought the playing wasn't quite as effortless or smooth.  Still on of the best sounding shows and hands down the best production I've seen.  I almost wish I would have grabbed tix to another venue as well.  Glad I can say I saw this performance.

Yep, saw him in Columbus.  It was fantastic.  At first I was a bit disappointed with my seats and view of the stage steup...but throughout the show they built a wall on which they projected effects and could see just fine.  Most impressive use of tech.  Really cool.

Kept overhearing older viewers there with their kids trying to explain the message..whats going on, etc.

I forgot to mention a big thanks to Rogerwaters.com ticketing service.  We had seats on the aisle about 10 rows from the floor DFC (taper term for Dead F'n Center).  Could not have asked for better sounding seats if I was taping (obviously not allowed and I understand rules). Only obstruction was the cable system for the I 15 video projectors.

Really hoping for a Blu-Ray of the concert to share with my Dad.

Saw the show last night at the Palace in Auburn Hills, north of Detroit.  Fantastic show, with very very good sound.  The best sounding concert (ignoring the DSO of course) that I have ever been too.

Highly recommended!!

First off I have to give HUGE thanks to electricbear (Tim) for inviting me. Tim and Dennis of The Sound Room got handed eight 5th row center tickets including VIP passes to the St Louis stop of The Wall tour. SteveK is the other ACer who was lucky enough to get invited  :thumb:

The show was frickin' AWESOME  :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: I'd rate it as one of the top five I've been to over all these years. It may be in the top three.

I almost brought my big camera but decided to just bring my little Canon SD960 IS. I got some pretty fair shots of the show. Unfortunately the little Canon doesn't do low light very well so you'll see some motion and grain but overall I'm pretty happy with these untouched shots.

I've only posted a couple to give you a flavor. You can go to my Flickr stream and see the rest of them;

Ditto Scott--a HUGE thanks to Tim for the invite.  :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: Without a doubt its the best show I've seen in my years. Great performance, great sound and the wall graphics were stunning. Each brick is dark when they install it in the wall until its projector is turned on. That's right, every brick has a separate projector. Amazing.

I saw the show in St. Paul on wednesday and it was awesome.  Incredible visuals, sound (four channels! Never heard that before in a concert) but not just to look cool, as there are some very powerful and moving messages conveyed in this show.  It was impossible to watch Vera\Bring The Boys Back Home and not get choked up.  So although there is spectacle and bombast, the core of it deals with genuine human emotion.  I also applaud Roger for including ALL the religious symbols falling from the bombers, as well as my personal favorite graphic during "Mother": NO…FUCKING…WAY  :thumb:  Shame about the essay in the program, though.  Hmph.

Hey Nathan,

I thought I heard rear channels. We were so close they sorta got drowned out.

Great pics, Scott!  I saw it in KC Saturday and was 16th row floor, just right of center.  Stupidly, the group about 13 rows behind me had the camera. . .and I just had my phone. :duh:

It was an UNBELIEVABLE show!  Was great to be so close.  The sound was the best at any rock concert I have ever been to.  I want to do it all over again!

Here are some of the pics (again, from my phone, so not the greatest).  Will at least give you an idea of where my seat was.  Plus, I got to touch a piece of The Wall (oooooohh!!!!  ahhhhhhhh!!!!)

Oct. 26th Omaha, NE:

I am a fairly jaded concert goer. One of the best concerts I have ever attended, on par with Reznor's NIN production wise. Exceeded my expectations. My girlfriend and I sat in the center of the nosebleed section with our "backs to the wall". No matter, the show was fantastic. We spent over $300 on tickets, 4 t-shirts, and drinks, and it was well worth it. Highly recommended, see it if you can.

The show starts with Waters donning the "facist" outfit, setting the tone for "The Show". Next, "The Thin Ice" is performed while pictures of war casualties from wars since WWII are displayed on the stage center screen. Each picture then becomes a brick in the wall and the next picture is shown. The partially constructed wall stretches across the stage, from one end of the auditorium to the other. By songs end, the wall consists of many faces.

Then later, jabs are taken at government, big oil (Shell), commercialization (Apple), religion. Local kids were brought in for "Another Brick in the Wall part II", that was really cool. Teacher and Wife puppets were fun. The wall is built brick by brick as the show progresses. By the end of Side 1, "Goodbye Cruel World", the wall is completed, the band is hidden, and we are ready for Side 2. Intermission.

You want more? Go see the show or browse the web.   :no_see: :no_hear: :no_speak:   I really hope they make a DVD of this.

BEST live amplified sound I have ever heard, by far. Nothing like you will get at home, no soundstage, no imaging, but nice and smooth FR, pants flapping bass. The volume was just right. I like sitting in the back for this reason... people SIT DOWN and enjoy the show, no standing trying to see around bobbing heads.

Scott and PJ, THANK YOU for the pics! The tickets said "No Cameras" so I left mine at home.  :duh:

Not where I was unfortunately.  It was SRO on the floor seats.  I always thought I was kinda tall, but clearly I'm not!

One of the things I really loved was that all the details from the album were preserved, all those little sound effects and whatnot were in the show.  Like the Jim Nabors "Surprise surprise surprise!" byte, the phone call operator and tons of other bits.  And also, Roger's voice was great, it wasn't a watered down, can't-hit-the-high-notes-anymore thing, it was all pretty much inline with the record.  Cool.
