I guess I'll give my two cents on M Night's latest attempt - IMHO he's back in the driver's seat with Devil...sort of. But did he re-discover his lost Mojo with this flick? My take, he's written a wonderful Twilight Zone Episode here. Not necessarily a scary movie per say, but, GREAT mis-direction on the "who's the killer?" aspect for sure (no spoilers here). I can see how many critics may say that this flick doesn't have real depth worth giving it a good grade. So, is Devil an unqualified success to me? Im my mind, only if we judge M Night against other M Night last blunders. It has good pace and excellent mis-direction, some unique surprises and the acting is very solid. It is simplistic and short.....as any great Twilight Zone episode typically feels.  :green: :green: :green:

Is  :green: :green: :green:  a 3 out of 5 star rating? I was looking this flick over myself as I haven't had me a doubleheader afternoon matinee in weeks now.  :duh:

O.K., three smiley faces was just my demeanor at the moment of my post. Here's a rating breakdown just for you! On a scale of 1-5 smiley faces.

- Tone  :green: :green: :green: :green:
- Story line  :green: :green:
- Story depth  :green:
- acting  :green: :green: :green: :green:
- casting  :green: :green: :green:
- cinematography  :green: :green: :green:
- predictability  :green: :green: :green: :green: :green:
- length of movie  :green: :green:
- blood and guts  :green: :green: :green:
- Scariness  :green:
- value for nine bucks  :green:
- value for matinee bucks?  :dunno:

Hopefully I've drawn more clarity to my initial post  :thumb:

Looks like I'll have to spend some quality time to cypher this rating.

Great movie.  M. Night has (sort of) redeemed himself.

Cool... I think I'll move it from my Avoid At All Costs list to my Grab It When It Hits Redbox list.
