I've just bought a Nuforce Udac2. The sound is really good but one thing bugs me.
I use a macbook pro thats runs OSX Snow Leopard and I can't get the Udac to accept the 96khz sample setting.
When I open the "audio midi setup" application I have options for the frequency and the bit depth.
I can either use 96khz and 16bit or 48khz and 24bit.
When I choose 96khz and 24bit the sound just stops?

Anyone have any ideas to whats wrong?

Hi,
Please check and learn how a Mac works.... 

One needs to go to the Midi Control and select 96kHz/24bit to set it as an option.  Otherwise, iTune stays at 44.1kHz.

Unfortunately, there are other issues, such as then all your 44.1kHz/16-bit music are re-sampled to 96kHz (not a very good idea), by iTune without any discretion

I have already changed the midi settings in the aplications/utilities/audio midi setup.app to but then the audio stop when I go above 48khz setting.

I use cog instead of itunes since itunes doesn't support flac.

Since we only tested iTune, I can't comment on COG.

Ok thats to bad. All my music is in FLAC and since itunes doesn't support that it's not an option.
But it's not really a problem since alla my music is in 41khz I wouldn't gain anything by increasing it to 96khz.
I was just curious to know why it didn't work.

Great product by the way. The sound is really good. Even compared to my expensive presonus rack mounted soundcard the udac2 is still the better one.

We did load 96k/24-bit music in iTune and they work normally.  uDAC2 and HDP shared the same USB configuration.

Except some little mispelling in tags, "Fluke" works pretty well to give iTunes FLAC playback ability...
