We are pursuit the wrong main approach?
« on: 18 Sep 2010, 02:24 pm »
Hi, anyone,

let me ask a heretical question: :icon_twisted:

Is the main approach for restore the spatial impression in audio, as stalking since Alain Blumlein, the right way? By my opinion, the signal difference between two points in space doesn't describe the sonic field. Entirely, the spatial distribution of sound pressure would be described, if we restore the direct wave of the source and all its reflections in the recording room.

That would be possible today from technical view. Would it deliver better results?

Regards H.
