Air Show 9/11 Scott Air Force Base
« on: 12 Sep 2010, 06:00 pm »
Spent about seven hours with my wife at the base shooting pics of some great looking aircraft. In all, I shot 363 pictures. Here's 19. sorry, but Photobucket has it's limitations.
Wifey and I have seen several air shows at Scott Air Force Base over the years. I'm not sure which one of us likes the event more, but she does claim to have mini-orgasms when they roar by at 450MPH. Kinda gives me a boner too.

Camera is a Nikon D40 with a Nikkor 55-200 AF lens.

Looks like I'll have to travel south one day to see a real air show.  Man, they never blow things up at Canadian air shows.  I've seen the Stealth on display behind a fence, but not in the air.  Nice work, Bob.

That's because you're a Ca-na-di-an and you're not supposed to see our cool stuff.  8)
Just kidding. Thanks you for the complement WC.
Actually, I live close(ish) to Whiteman Air Force Base, which is the air field that houses all of the B-2 bombers. The Narrator said the "only" reason the B-2 showed up was because it was on a training mission. (Yea right)
Whiteman has a show called W.O.W. (Wings Over Whiteman) that I've yet to see.
One of these days..........

WC, you can head to Oshkosh, WI to the EAA Airventure show in late July.  The blow some stuff up, there, too.

Those older prop aircraft are from the Commemorative (formerly Confederate) Air Force.  The do a Pearl Harbor reenactment with lots of pyro.

Bob, it's not the glass that captures the image, it's the eye behind the camera.  I have shot dozens of air shows, and your shots are the equal of anything I've done. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

TrungT, not too much info, just a little color. Boner Bob and Mrs O are having the physical reactions many of us have with these awesome machines. The first time I saw a Stealth it came in fast with no sound and the look of that black demon stopped my heart. I was standing near the runway with several pilots and none had never seen one. The reaction was the same with all of us. All were silent except one who said "Holy mother of god." Air shows are stunning. Goose bumps and hard nipples. Great pics BB.

I'll have to do that... only 10 more months to go... OTOH seems like a waste of good explosives...

I've always wanted to go to Osh Kosh. What is it, something like five full days of aircraft? Yea....I could soooo handle that.  :thumb:
I shot 363 pictures in five hours this weekend. Not much, but think of how many could be shot in five days.  :o
