Guidance on project

I have some empty space in my ceiling absorbtion box.  Should I fill it with acoustic foam?  I also have ~1" left in each box would going from 4" to 5 or 6" make a real difference?  Thanks for advice.

Filling the large gap is a good idea, but the difference between 4 inches and 5 inches thick is probably not worth the effort.

Any real advantage going from 4" to 6"?

Thanks,

It would extend the reach of the absorber but on the ceiling is not likely the best place for it.  It would still help with decay times though.
