Don't know if it's appropriate to promote a dealer. I have no affiliation with them, other than being a satisfied customer. But I really like the needledoc. They have a ton of stuff, ship fast, and communicate any issues. Also reply quickly to any questions.

My purchase were my Denon cart, Rega VTA shim, cleaning fluid, new velvet for my vac. cleaner  and MF 'rice paper' sleeves.

I bought a replacement plug-in cartridge for an old stereo record player I restored from them several years ago. The one they sent me was similar to what they thought they were selling, but mono and they didn't have the correct item to replace it with. I sent it back, requesting my shipping be refunded as well due to the fact they didn't send what I ordered. I was sent a refund minus shipping and paid out of my pocket to send their mistake back. Never did business with them again and never will. Although, I love their web-site for looking at stuff... lol. They've lost well over $1000.00 in purchases so far to steal a measly few bucks by mail fraud.

My experience mirrors royphil345's. IMHO poor customer service makes for a poor business model. I to will not be ordering again from needledoctor.

Sorry to hear others have had a bad experience. Maybe they've tried to fix those issues. I dunno. As I said, I only posted, because I thought they were very helpful despite my modest level of purchase.  I ran a small business for 26 years, and customer service was my #1 priority, but I'm sure there were those who were not happy. We all drop the ball from time to time.

I suppose because of my experience as a business owner I tend to be loyal to vendors I like, and try to give them some word of mouth. That is all.

Just an example from needledoc. I had placed an order for Spin Clean unit. Within hours of that order, I saw and ad here for a Record Doctor  vac unit for a good price from Sonny, whom I'd purchased from before. I was all over it. So I emailed needledoc and asked if they could delete the item from my order. They said "Sure and nice pickup on that unit" I thought that was pretty classy.

You can please some of the people all of the time and all of the people some of the time but you can't please all of the people all of the time....

36 years in business....how time flies... :duh:

My first purchase from Needledoctor.com is due to arrive today. (New cartridge.) But I'm concerned by royphil's experience. To be in the audio business and to ship a "mono" item to replace a stereo one, without asking the customer, is unconscionable. To charge them for the mistake is fraud. Cut and dried.

I hope my item arrives ok.

10% off ends on the 10th!

The 10th of what? And on what products? I was eyeing their AudioTechnica phono preamp.

I haven't bought a lot from them, but the couple of small items I did purchase arrived without incident.

Got my 2 TT and 3 carts from them.  They always give me a slight break on list.  Never had a problem.

The 10th of what? And on what products? I was eyeing their AudioTechnica phono preamp.

Don't do it... I got one for kicks and found it to be very "dry" and bright sounding. Perhaps the least "musical" sounding phono stage I've ever heard. I don't think Audio Technica was happy with how it turned out either because it's been discontinued after a very short run.

I actually threw it out when I moved because I wouldn't even give it to someone for free to ruin the sound of their system with. If you want to hear an amazing sounding phono stage on the cheap, try the ART DJ USB phono preamp for around $70.00. Amazing (for the money anyway) sound that betters a lot of more expensive "budget audiophile" stuff I've tried, IMO. Nice balance and bass weight you would expect to pay more for. They have a $49.00 model without the USB output, but I'm not sure it would sound the same. A friend recommended I check out the USB model and I have to agree it sounds crazy good for the money. Only downside is the USB output is limited to 16/44.1 or 16/48. The USB vinyl transfers sound way better than when I was using my thin sounding M-Audio "pro" sound card though.

I'm glad people generally have no problems with their orders from Needle Doctor. But, mistakes are made, items are occasionally defective, etc... These are the times when you find out a dealer's true colors and it seems these are the times when Needle Doctor's customer service can come up a little short at times.
