A very gently used Nikon 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G AF-S ED VR II off of my local Craigslist.

One more thing...I'm galad you are going Nikon. Great stuff. I personally have over a dozen Nikon fixed length lenses and I'm not too worried about having the latest body.

Zybar, keep in mind that you could still make a really fancy "pinhole" camera with that lens until you get a body.  Just cut a hole in a shoebox or a coffee can, stick a sheet of film in there and you're ready to go!

I have a body (Nikon D70), I just don't own it (it has been on loan from a friend).
