Are they worth it?  Are they a hastle like they used to be?  Which is the best, BMG or Columbia House?  Anything else I should know?

Thanks!

They aren't quite as much of a hassle, because for Columbia House and BMG, you can respond to your monthly selection online and don't have to deal with the mailer.  But for both CH and BMG, unless you are looking for the most common CDs out there, I've found them lacking in their selection of less-popular genres (jazz, classical) as well as remasters...

I've found them good for getting all the CD's you would like to have but don't want to pay retail for them all.  My advise is to get a list of titles you would like see if they have them and go for it.  The free CDs cost about $2.79 each.  Once that is done you can get CD's for $8 average when you buy under one of the many on-going promos.  This will be even mo' betta if they continue to increase their hi rez selections.

Also, ask if anyone here is a member because the memeber can get a few free CD's ($2.79 ea.) by joining through them.

Do a hunt online for forums about these.  I remember seeing a DVD forum where people posted obsessively detailed lists about what and how to buy from these clubs.  I'm pretty sure the same thing exists for the music CD clubs.

My experiences with clubs was fine, but I probably haven't done them in ten years or so.  When I did them I preferred BMG.
