Life expectancy of 6C45 AND 6N1P Tubes
« on: 1 Sep 2010, 06:51 pm »
Curious as to what sort of lifespan the 6C45 and the 6N1P tubes hold? No tube tester and not sure where they are in their performance life. Thanks!

For what it is worth, we used 6N1P tubes as our standard small signal tubes in our tube preamps, hybrid preamps, and tube and hybrid DACs for at least a couple of years here, (switching to 6CG7 types in the past year).

So far nearly zero request for replacement tubes and the few we have seen back for any upgrades or repairs have not required tube replacement either.

So although the 6N1p tube runs pretty hot, our experience says they are pretty reliable.  We have been using Sovtec ones.
