Now that participation in the Vinyl Circle has reached critical mass I feel it necessary to offer some simple guidlines.   I had hoped that all who posted were mature and civil enough that no moderation would be necessary but reality is no utopia.

Healthy debate is welcome, even the most trite CD vs LP debate, as is differing views and questioning popular opinion.  However it is the responsibility of the antagonist to support his view.  Antagonistic posts without explanation of the statement or argument supporting opinion are viewed as trolling and will be censored at the discretion of the facilitator(s).  So in simple terms, explain yourself and your view.

As with any post on AudioCircle.com, personal attacks will not be tolerated.  :nono:  Remember this is suppose to be fun!  :P

Hi Josh,

To be honest i don't see the point in posting on the vinyl circle any more.

I joined audiocircle to try and obtain information on a wide range of products, i don't like it when 1 opinion totally dominates everything.

I will still be posting on audiocircle but don't see the point in post on the viny circle.

Best wishes

Rod

Hi,

I hope you don't think i've taken my cricket bat and ball and am sulking but the vinyl circle has become too 1 sided imo.

If things improve i will be back.

Well, as long as you have a Technics 1200 with 12,000 tons of power filtering, your free to go

I agree the vinyl circle has gotten to one sided.  Part of the problem is there is a lot of newbies on the circle and, unlike the vinyl asylum on AA, there aren't a ton of vinyl gurus here.  I've been into vinyl for over 20 years and have owned 7 different turntables over the years, but compared to the guys on the vinyl asylum, I'm a neophyte.
Couple that with a strong manufacturer and audio reviewer presence on the vinyl asylum and you get less one sided pontifications.  You still get them, of course, but there are people with serious credentials that can dispute hyperbole.  I hope you can find a place where you can get vinyl information over the internet that is more welcoming to you, Rocket.  I'll certainly miss you here.

Stay and be another side.  We do have two I will say, at least.  Those who like technics and those who like Teres...and then there are the linn chaps.

Good idea, Josh.  There is the technics camp, the Teres camp, I'll be in the Linn/Rega camp, and Rocket can be in the Bluenote camp!  No need to leave now, Rocket- you've got a camp! 8)

Bluenote needs some representation as an upstart!   :D   Did you get the beautiful bellavista I read about in Hi Fi + or something else?  As the Dean of PRAT, it makes sense I'm from the REGA/LINN camp.  You can be the Italian Don, Rocket!

The Honorable Knights of Nottingham would like to petition for a camp as well. There's already a well-established protocol for welcoming new members into the club, a secret handshake AND a silly walk (so that Nott' heads can recognize one another on the street).

Nice, 7 camps!  We definitely needed a Nottingham camp.  What Nott do you have, Tonto?  I've heard the spacedeck a few times and was really impressed.  I also liked the interspace, but didn't hear it as long.  Great looks and sound.  I'm surprised we don't have a Basis or J.A. Michell camp yet.  Anyone?

Actually, I think we really have 8 camps because Doug S has an Oracle.
