Sonic Spirits Closing
« on: 23 Aug 2010, 05:12 pm »
Hi all,

It's with a little bit of sadness that I am closing down Sonic Spirits, my audio dealer business.  The decision to close was based on a combination of the economic environment and family needs/priorities.  Suffice it to say that it has been a really fun 8-year run, and much of that had to do with everybody here on AudioCircle.  Effective closing date will be September 1, 2010.

I've got some demo gear for sale...will post a list soon (but a lot of you know what stuff I have...feel free to ping me if you know I have something that you might want)...

It's as sad thing to see your business close as it was when you stopped hosting NY RAVES. While I totally understand that family comes first, both you and your personality will be missed. Being a former Sonic Spirit customer, you ran a 1st rate business that paralleled your RAVE's. I hope you'll enjoy your family years Phil cuz they do grow up fast so live the moments to their fullest. Maybe we'll see ya back in the years to come.  :thumb:

Cheers,
Robin

Thanks all for the well-wishes.  But I guess this also means that my "industry" status on AC will now be gone, so I can speak a little more freely, so watch out...! :eyebrows:

Yeah - Phil's restraints come off - it's crappy being opinionated and not having an outlet to express it  :shh:

All the best, Phil in whatever endeavor life takes you.

Here is an initial list of demo gear that I'm selling as clearance:

Cayin A70T tube integrated amp (KT88-based) - $950 (retail price $2195)
Blue Circle DAR hybrid integrated amp - $1450 (retail price $2995)

Local/pickup only:
Focus Audio FS-78SE 2-way floorstanding speaker - $1950 (retail price $4200)
Focus Audio FS-788 2-way floorstanding speaker - $2190 (retail price $6150) (some cosmetic blemishes)
Acoustic Zen Adagio speaker (version 1) - $500 (retail price $3500) (one speaker has some cosmetic and possible circuitry issues; someone with DIY skills could probably address them.  Drivers are all fine, and speakers work without specific audible issues).
Blue Circle BC206 hybrid stereo amplifier - $6000 (retail price $14,995)

Unless noted, products are in excellent working and cosmetic condition.

More to come...

Phil,

You can always come back to audio when your kids turn into teenagers and start to develop their independence.  In the meantime, stay in touch with us NY Ravers from time to time.  Cheers.

Woah...times are a'changin'.
More time with the family is always a good thing. Can't go wrong there.

And if you should never host a Rave again...one thing I will miss besides the fine company and environment is this...

Man that Cayin is a sweet sounding amp...tempting.
