Brendan Perry's (Dead Can Dance) new album "Ark."

A head's up for long time Dead Can Dance fans (and those who've recently discovered them,) there's reason to rejoice a little. After a ten plus year wait, Brendan Perry has a new release, "Ark." I recently ordered it and have been enjoying it quite a bit, it's a most worthy addition to the catalog. The compositions and fabulous production qualities place it squarely in the tradition of Dead Can Dance releases, even though we're missing Lisa's contributions. Brendan has obviously labored long and lavished a great deal of work on this recording. One of the best releases this year IMO.

Interesting video here...  http://ark.brendan-perry.com/

"Recorded in his own studio in Ireland, Ark is truly a solo album, Brendan playing every instrument, writing all the lyrics and being the sole creative force across the eight tracks. All of the instrumentation on Ark is derived from samples and synthesizers and, in its creators own words, is predicated on a theory of creating 'a neutral electronic soundscape which would in turn mirror a world that is becoming increasingly more dependent upon machines to perform tasks for us'."

Interesting composition and writing. However, the vocals kill it for me.  Lisa would have taken this project to a whole different level.

I agree, Lisa's contributions are missed. As mellifluous as Brendan's voice is, an entire album of it does become, say, a tad monotonous. I thought it might have added to the production values if he'd recruited other vocalists to enrich the mix. Perhaps Brendan doesn't go there for fear of looking as if he's trying to recreate another clone of Dead can Dance. He knows you can't catch that lightning in a bottle twice. It's always a creative minefield when you try to negotiate new creative turf after being so entwined with another distinctive creative force.

Thanks for the post, Photon; this may be something to look into.

Boy, the guy's voice hasn't changed one bit in all that time.

Employee can havemoncler jacke different opinion with his/her boss. And when he/she got different ideas, he/she can go all the way up to the boss and discuss the problem. This is a good thing usually company may explore all the potentials of its employees, because sometime the subordinates may have the better&nb monclersp;idea of the business.

Yujiao post can havemore make sense and that lacking of the album.  Question for to "Ark" is series of sound and that time will be a fine evidence of remarkability.  Act now so for to be a waiting period extended and finding a gracious injury.
