What mode does the smART DI/O sound best in?

From reading the archives, I know that Wayne likes external sync best in his system.

Others?

For me, no question external sync.  I also emailed the ART techs to ask them this question, and they recommended external sync as well.  I think they said something on the order of every one else introduces increasing amount of noise.  You hear the extreme example on the other end.  Now some people I recall liked the 88.2 mode. But to my ears it was no contest.  Try them yourself and report back what you hear.

External sounds best for me...

I have had the most success with the unit in external sync, but wanted to post this, for information from others.  Thanks for your reply, I appreciate hearing about your experiences.

I can sync in 44.1, but cannot with 88.2 for some reason.  Perhaps it has to do with the RCA Scenium I am using as a transport, and perhaps it has to do with the cable.

I am awaiting a Bolder digital cable in the mail now, the older 1st generation one used off a guy here, and I am also expecting a 75 ohm Belden 1694A with Canare rca and bnc.  If I hear a difference between them, in my system, I will post it.
