For sale is a modified/restored Harmon Kardon Citation II with 5687 triode front end, which opens up the sound from stock.

The amp was redone in late 2008, and has not had a lot of time on it since.  The mods are extensive:

- Improved bias circuit, with milspec dale pots, and a NOS Simpson ammeter
- Taps for 8 and 4 ohms
- Original 6550 Tung Sol tubes included (light use), with a spare set of Sylvania 6550s as spares (two new, two near new)
-5687 are Sylvania GB, with a spare set of 5687 Tung Sol D getters

I've gone to HT, and just haven't  use it like I thought I would.

Price is 1200.00, plus shipping.  Will post additional pics of the inside.  The work and parts alone were close to 700.00  Feel free to emaill with questions.

Here is a pic of the inside of the unit.  The workmanship and parts quality is excellent.  The tech did a great job with this.  PM for pics of spare tubes.

Price Drop to 1050.00, plus shipping

Price includes a quad of slightly used 60's Tung Sol 6550s, and a spare set of Sylvania 6550 (two new, two slightly used).  A quad of GB 5687s , and a spare quad 5687 Tung Sol "D" getters.

The transformers and tubes alone are worth the asking price.

Very nice work, but no front plate?   That's one of the only things keeping me from buying.

The front plate is there, it was painted over, as the original one was somewhat marked up.

I can check with Jim McShane, as he sells remade ones from time to time.

The iron alone is worth the price, I think.  Its basically unobtanium to get iron quite up to these standards today (arguable, maybe).  I've seen the irons sell for as much as the asking on ebay, maybe more.
