Sad to hear...she has not been in the best of health the past year.

Very sad day. She was on of my favorite singers. I think I will drink a toast and play some Abbey Is Blue.

I had the Stevie Ray Vaughan cranked on eleven until I read this thread. 

Now it's ......"you gotta pay the band"

They've been playing some tunes of hers with husband Max Roach on the PBS FM affiliate down here and, man, I had forgotten how powerfully she could write.

I do have a fond memory of her performing at Blues Alley.  And what a looker in her day........drove Max Roach crazy  :P

WKCR 89.9FM had her on all evening...interviews, her music...chit-chatting...very nice.
