Purchased brand new in December 2000 and always driven conservatively with quality amplification (Audio Research VT-100 mk. 2, then Joule-Electra Stargate monoblocks).

I am selling because my current listening room (10 x 13) just doesn't allow these speakers to breath properly.

I am sure the newer revisions are "better" in an absolute sense, but I still don't feel I have come close to exhausting the potential of this revision and have paired it with a quality chain of components (Lavry DA10, Joule-Electra LA-100 mk. 3 preamp, Joule-Electra Stargate monoblocks, Luminous Audio Synchestra Signature interconnects, and Cardas Golden Cross speaker cable); these just require more careful system matching.

bBAM battery has just been replaced by Merlin, and includes Merlin single wire jumpers too.

Rated 8/10 primarily for age. Speakers are in excellent cosmetic condition, though there are a few minor blemishes on top of right speaker (see pics below). Full set of original, high resolution photos available upon request.

Actual shipping cost will depend upon location and freight shipping method I can find. Original Merlin box holds both speakers, weighs 200 lbs., and has outer dimensions 49 x 27 x 17.

Lower 48 states only, please.

Prepayment via USPS money order or bank certified check only.

** I also have a 1, 1.5, and 2 meter pair of Luminous Audio Synchestra Signature interconnects available for sale (http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=83308.0).  These are superb six 9's, Ohno Continuous Cast Copper interconnects that Bobby Palkovich, the designer and manufacturer of Merlin speakers, recommended as excellent match for his speakers.  **

I don't feel I ever came close to exhausting the potential of this "old" revision of the venerable Merlin VSM series, but Bobby told me I could upgrade the speakers all the way up to the MME (matte finish) as follows:
Quote
"the bam to a super bam would cost $450.
from the se to the m and then the mm $1050.
and then the mme $650."

I suspect, though am not sure, he would honor those prices for a second owner too.
